History Muskegon Country Club is a family oriented private club. The mission of the Club is to provide recreational and social opportunities for members and their guests. The Club has a long and rich history. It was founded in 1908 on 130 acres of virgin dune. It still sits on the original acreage and continues to thrive as an integral part of the community. The golf course was designed by the world renowned architect, Donald Ross. Muskegon Country Club recognized Donald Ross’ contribution to golf and strives to maintain as much of his heritage as possible. In 1985 the Club was chosen as one of the three clubs in Michigan to participate in the Regional Qualifying Rounds for the 85th U.S. Open. The pool facility was moved to its new location in 1995. It is made of stainless steel, with Olympic style swim lanes. Muskegon Country Club has it’s own swim team the “MCC Marlins”. In 2000 the Club House was completely renovated. It now has the style and grace to match its magnificent golf course. In 2008 Muskegon Country Club will celebrate 100 years of existence. We salute the foresight, determination and the persistence of our founding members, and all who have followed in their footsteps and graced the rolling fairways at Muskegon Country Club. |
